The Challenge series spans from September 17th 2008 to January 18th 2009. Tickets are $6 to $16 providing the best family sports entertainment in Singapore. The Singapore Slingers are back and ready to take on all comers in the Singapore Challenge Series. This Series will provide on-going games for the Slingers as Chairman Tony Fernandes leads the charge in the establishment of an ASEAN professional league as the future for the Slingers. With games scheduled at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from the 17th of September through to January, the Slingers are ready for action. Winning the Brunei Cup Championship, in late August, was not only an ideal warm-up for the Challenge Series but showed the team is one to watch. With a new Filipino recruit, Al Vergara, Singapore fans can expect plenty of highlights from the diminutive point guard. Al is joined by new recruits Dr Darren Ng, Eric Sandrin and 2.21 metre tall Sam Harris. The Singapore Challenge Series will see the Slingers host a variety top class international teams from throughout the region including the Philippines, China, Indonesia, India and Australia. The Slingers, Slingers Girls, mascot and give aways such as an LCD TV at all home games courtesy of Harvey Norman will ensure an exciting atmosphere at the Indoor Stadium is better than ever.
